Di`s new kitchen

Di was a good child all the year. So she found this new kitchen under the Christmas tree. It was one of the great gifts from Jesus Christ.

Christmas cards

Actually this is the activity similar to that one in Teletubbies. We used a white paper, bent it in halves and used wax crayon to draw a picture of a snowman and stars. Then we painted it with watercolours. Finally we used some glitters.

Scratching out

Scratching out is one of those activities Di likes to do. You need a white paper and wax crayons to fill the whole paper with different colours and designs. I helped Di, because she didn`t push the crayons and it is needed to push them in heavily. Then we used black india ink and a brush to paint the wax crayon drawing black. When it dried out we used steelpins to scrach the picture out. Di was really excited about this activity and so was I...

Bells from Šikovníček

Di likes Šikovníček magazine very much although there are activities mostly for older children. Actually, this was activity mainly for me, because I cut and bent the bells, Di just helped me to put the glue on the bells. Then she tried to thread the beads, but the hole was very small, so it was difficult for her and I had to do it after all. However, she was happy to play with these cute bells...

Bottle Snowman

You need a bottle, a black marker, a red pipe cleaner, a sock, an orange paper, two google eyes, scissors and glue to do this bottle snowman craft.

Crepe paper snowman

Instructions: Cut a snowman from white drawing paper with scissors.Then make some balls from white crepe paper and stick them on the snowman. Use a red bow to make a shawl for him. Draw and cut a pot and five buttons from brown paper and stick them on the snowman. Finally stick a nose from orange paper (just roll a piece of paper to make a roll) and two google eyes.

A mole cake

I can`t believe that Di is already three years old. Time passes so quickly...it seems like just yesterday she was born...Life speeds up. Happy birthday my sweetie, I love you so much...

Learning

This is a coffer with 15 folding-picture books about nature, colors, transport, weather, shapes, opposites, clothes, animals, zoo, insects, farm, numbers, fruit, flowers and the sea. Di knows most of the words included. It is suitable for smaller children, but Di still likes to play with it.

Busy Bee

Di is helping her father in this photo. We bought wooden floor to her bedroom. First we wanted to buy cork floor, but the cork was more expensive, so we changed our mind.

A cork board

I bought a cork board for Di. Then I printed AppleSequencing from FileFolderFun and cut the apples. Di had to sequence the apples by size and tack them on the board.

Creative moments with Grandma

I have already written about grandma`s creative activities with Di. Di presses her to make something and grandma really tries hard. Di brings an art project almost every day.

Counting with Disney

I bought this game a couple months ago and Di likes it. She can learn about numbers by playing with the train. Once she has assembled the train, it was easier for her to link number and quantity. She can count from 1 to 10 in Slovak and in English, too. It is important for her to meet with figures and quantity.

Late autumn

I was at home today, because of flu holidays. So we made this late autumn activity. Di painted a drawing paper blue and green. When it dried up, we made red and yellow fingerprints on the paper. Finally I cut out the tree from a brown cardboard paper and stuck it on the painting.

Bridge to Terabithia

Actually, I liked the film very much. The film reminded me my own child kingdom, full of adventures, I spent a good few years of my life there. I didn`t like it, when Leslie died...
It was Di`s playtime with daddy. They played with Magic building set. And dady built this nice bridge, Di enjoyed the bridge.

Real Painting

Di is almost three. It`s time to prepare a bedroom for her. So we gave us a kick and started to paint the room yellow and lavender. Di wanted to help, of course. There is a lot of work to do, but I hope we will make it on time.

An airoplane

While Di was painting a toilett paper roll with a blue tempera, I was cutting wings, an airscrew and a plane`s tale from a brown paper. Then we stuck the components together. You need to make three notches to stuff the plane`s tale into the roll.

A globe

This is the FIRST art project which was made-up by Di. We have a small globe. Actually it is the radio. Di said: Mami, let`s go to do the activity. And I asked: What shall we do? And she suggested to make the globe. She made a ball from the newspapers and pretended it is the globe. I suggested her to stick it with a glue. So I mixed some glue, water and blue tempera and Di painted the ball. It dried up and it was firm enough to play with.

Mosaic

You need a cardboard paper, a nice poster, a glue, scissors, a ruler, a pencil and a dark cardboard paper.
First Di stuck the poster on the cardboard paper. When it dried up, I divided the poster on equal squares with the ruler and the pencil and I also cut them out. Finally we stuck the poster squares on the dark cardboard paper to make the mosaic.

We are ill

Di fell ill first, then me and my husband. We use antibiotics and I hope we will be OK soon. I am scared a little bit of the situation in Ukrainian. It is quite near...

Autumn leaves

Actually I found this activity here and I liked it very much, so we tried to do the similar autumn leaves. We glued some torn handkerchieves on the paper, but we didn`t use any gesso. I mixed some glue and water and Di brushed the handkerchieves with the mixture. It had to dry out. Then I painted some leaf shapes with a pencil and Di painted them with watercolours. When the paper dried up, I cut the leaves. Finally I painted the veins with a thin brush and black tempera.

The sea III

I bought some fish stickers last Saturday, so I prepared Di a drawing paper, wax crayons, a brush, a cup of water and watercolours. First we painted some waves with crayons on the paper, then Di painted it with watercolours. When it dried up, Di stuck the fish stickers.

Grandmother`s ideas

While I am working at school, my daughter Di stays with grandmom Jane in Krompachy. Di begs her to do some educational activities, so grandmom keeps trying. In the photos there is a heart made from crepe balls and a collage made from cut magazine elements. Thank you grandmom!

Yarn apple

This activity is from Chasing Cheerios, where you can find the instructions to make this easy yarn apple. And it is soooooooo cute. We will try to make a yellow pear next time, because Di likes pears very much.

Townlet

We started to make this cute townlet yesterday and completed it today. First we glued some boxes on the drawing paper. I mixed water and glue. We glued handkerchief cut into small pieces on the boxes. When the boxes dried out, we painted them with tempera. We also painted the sky with tempera. Finally we stuck some star stickers in the sky and I drew the windows with a black marker. Sorry for the mistakes, I hurry up, because there is a Superstar on TV...

Hair elastic

Di is playing with colourful hair elastic which offer varied types of activities.

Paper plate pig

You can find this activity here We needed two paper plates, a bigger and smaller one, a pink tempera, a pink paper, two google eyes, scissors, a ribbon, a hole punch and a glue. Di painted two paper plates with pink tempera. I cut two ears, four legs from the pink paper, a round snout. I helped Di to glue them on the plates. I painted two nostrils with a black marker and Di added its mouth. Finally I made a hole with the hole punch and Di threaded the white ribbon through the hole and tied it.

Leaves prints

Actually we did this activity on Saturday morning. We picked up some leaves in our garden and pressed them. We stuck them on the drawing in the shape of a bird. Then we painted the leaves with tempera and put another drawing on it. We pressed the second drawing with our hands to make a print. And here is the result...

Lacing leaf

This activity is from DLTK`s I drew and cut a leaf from construction paper and I also made holes around its shape. Di threaded a green cablet through the holes. Finally I made a bow. It is very good activity for her motor skills, so I plan to do more lacing activities later.

Balloon game II

This balloon game has only two rules. Di threw the balloon into the air and tried to hit falling balloon with her head. It was quite difficult for her, she hit her head once or twice...

Fruit

I cut an apple and a pear from a drawing paper. Di made balls from a yellow and red crepe paper and then stuck it on the apple and the pear. Finally I helped her with the leaves.

Cooking

As you can see in the photo Di is stirring a tomato soup. I do not like the activities like this, because it is quite dangerous...

Pom pom elephant

This elephant is made from a pink pom pom ball, two grey ears, a trunk, two ears and legs. Di stuck the parts together with a glue.

Hitting game

We needed a basin and some balls plus a skipping rope. We determined a start line with the skipping rope. Di had to hit the balls into the basin.

Dogshow in Prešov

We went on a Dogshow with our dog Jopo Zlabern to Prešov. He was second in his bride, so he won RCAC. PaedDr. Jana Nechalova lead him. Congratulations!

A walk

Di went for a walk with her granmom and Vlado. She likes climbing frames very much. And I struggle for breath when I look at the pictures like this.

Chicken

Lenka cut one egg box and Di painted it with yellow tempera. Meanwhile Lenka cut a circle and a beak from the paper. Di painted the circle with yellow tempera and the beak with orange tempera. Lenka glued orange beak on yellow circle and painted chick`s eyes. Then she glued this head on a skewer. She made three holes into the case. Di put the skewer into the first hole and feather into the second one and the third one.

Pom pom pets

This Pom pom pets kit was bought in Tesco. Our neighbours gave it to Di three months ago. Di glued the parts together. I suppose that Lenka helped her.

Cinnamon and paprika picture

This activity was suggested by Lenka. You need minced cinnamon, minced red paprika, hand cream and drawing paper. Di and Lenka put some cream on the paper and then dispersed cinnamon and paprika on it. You can also see Di`s handprints in the picture made with cream and dispersed with cinnamon.

Breakfast

I went to work and Di stayed at home with my sister Lenka, because grandmom went to Turkey on holiday. You can see Di greasing butter on a slice of bread. And do not miss some paintings on her back and arm made by Lenka...

Sweet heart

To make this activity you need a drawing paper, scissors, punch and colourful threads. First I cut a heart shape from the drawing paper and made some holes with the punch on the edge and also in the middle of the heart. Di strung the threads through the holes with her grandmom. Finally grandmom knotted the threads.
