Ladybug hand puppet

This activity is from http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/puppets/paperplateladybug/. Children like hand puppets very much. Especially the stories performed with puppets. We bought a yellow dog and a pink cat puppet. Di likes "Lenka Lienka" - Lenka the ladybug song from Peter Nagy, so I decided to make her a puppet of ladybug. All you need is two paperplates (I just cut two circles from drawing paper), stapler, red and black paint, scissors.
I cut out the ladybug`s legs from drawing paper and cut off the rim of the plates to make a hole, where Di will put her hand to move the ladybug. Di helped me to paint the plates red, then I painted the eyes, head and legs black. I also painted some black dots. Then I put the parts of the ladybug together with the stapler.

Baking cups flower

This is really cute picture. We did this activity in FMC Mamulienka a couple weeks ago. Di glued the baking cups on a blue paper and decorated it with craft easy painters bought in Tesco. I helped her to draw the stem and the leaves.

Memorial

It is exactly five years today since my dear father passed on forever. He had a motorbike accident and everything changed in my life from this moment on. I loved him very much.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon him
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Scenery

We usually tidy up on Saturday and so we did today. But there was also time for making a scenery like this. It is very easy activity. Just cut a circle from drawing paper. Paint a soup plate with tempera and then make a print with the circle.

Nature collage

We went cycling to the forest yesterday and we brought some products of nature which we found in the forest. So we made a nature collage today. Now we are sad, because there was a windstorm and hailstorm in the East of Slovakia and many people lost their roofs and many houses are damaged, harvest is devastated and trees are fell down...It gave us a feeling of sorrow.

Moon and stars

Di wanted to make a moon today, because yesterday we made a sun, so I cut the moon and stars from coloured papers. Di used a glue and some glitters and coloured sequins to decorate it. Finally I used needle and thread to fix the stars to the moon. Before going to sleep we went roller skating since the weather got better.

Handprints sun

Di likes hand printing very much. To make this cute sun you need a paper plate, yellow tempera, a paintbrush, a drawing, a glue and scissors, black marker. I painted Di`s hand yellow, she made handprints on the drawing, which I cut. Then she painted the paper plate yellow, we glued cut handprints on the plate and I drew the eyes and mouth in the end with a black marker. Finished!

Paper plate sunflower

We felt the lack of sun from Saturday, so I baked chocolate chip cookies and then I made a paper plate sunflower with Di. We needed a paper plate, yellow paper, scissors, glue and sunflower seeds. First I cut for Di the sunflower perianth from yellow paper, which she glued on a paper plate (I helped her from time to time). Finally she glued the seeds on the paper plate. It is very easy and very nice activity.

Smurfs

Di also likes watching Smurfs and we got these small smurfs after buying some stuff. Di wanted me to draw the smurf, so I tried. She played with smurfs and some kinder toys. I was able to do ironing, because she didn`t insist on my attention.

Cardboard car

Di`s favourite link is www.uptoten.com. There are a lot of songs, activities, games and videos for children in English. We made this activity from this link, specifically from http://www.boowakwala.com/kids/boowakwala-adventures-garage-caractivity.html where you can see the intructions how to do it. Di was happy, but she didn`t like the paper steering wheel. She used her tesco steering wheel with sounds and songs.

Ozzy Boo

Di watches Ozzy Boo penguins these days. She likes the songs very much and the penguins are really cute. So we made penguins from toilet paper rolls. There are five penguins in the story, so Di painted five rolls black. Then I cut the small parts from the coloured paper and glued them on black rolls. I painted the eyes with markers.

Greeting card for Father`s day

I thought about Father`s day and especially about a gift for my husband. I didn`t want to buy any expensive things, I just wanted a loving gift for him. So I decided to make a handmade greeting card with Di. And it was really easy to do. First I painted Di`s foot pink to make her footprint on a piece of cardstock. Then I cut it and glued on a piece of brown postcard which I cut before. I cut two pieces, made two holes and tied them with yellow string. In the end I used some glitters and a butterfly sticker. Happy Father`s day darling!

Washable markers

Di and Mimi colored a piece of paper with washable markers and then misted it with spray. Mimi didn`t like the masterpiece, so they used their finger prints and watercolours in the end to improve it. This is the second attempt, because spraying was very interesting for Di, so her first masterpiece was totally soaked.

Bow Flower Prints

This activity is from my favourite link: www.hubbardscupboard.org. There are great activities for 2`s and many other useful informations and links. I had just one bow at home, so Di used it to make bow flower prints. I fixed the bow to a skewer to ease holding. Then she tried to paint some leafs and stems.

Nature expedition

I found this interesting activity on Chasing Cheerios. I painted a paper egg casing with different colours and Di and Mimka had to fill it with products of nature according to colour in the egg casing. We experienced a great and funny walk.

Swimming pool in Tiszaújváros

We visited with Cakurda family thermal Tiszaujvaros bath and spa in Hungary. There are five open-air pools with many attractions, green area for sunbathing, playfields for sport activities. The castle pool provides carefree paddling for the smallest. The advantage and disadvantage in one is the fact, that adults cannot enter the pool for kids. Altought there is a lifeguard, my Di was drawning and my husband saved her, so I almost died fearing. We had fun in the wave pool with huge waves.

Goulash

We spent weekend with our neighbours Cakurda. We cooked outdoor goulash and then they helped us to set aside wood we bought to use in our fireplace in Winter. In the evening we packed our stuff for Sunday. There was so much to do, that we fell off to bed after all.

Di`s hand prints

I had to go to the Arrhythmology in Presov and Di stayed at home with Lenka. They made hand prints with tempera and hearts with blowing pens. Di likes blowing pens very much. I returned home with an ekg holter. In the afternoon we tried to reclaim our fireplace, of course it was troublesome.

Fair in Sabinov

We went to Presov to arrange something and because there were The days of Sabinov city, we also went to Sabinov. My mother and my sis live in Sabinov anyway. There was merry-go-round too, so Di tried the one for the smallest kids. She was fascinated and wanted to stay there, but there were too many people and the music was too loud in my opinion. She ate candyfloss for the first time. There were also stalls with different stuff, but I don`t like buying like this. I liked the stalls with handicraft very much. I consider the slovak handicraft to be proud cultural heritage.

Bubbles

Blowing the bubbles is Di`s favourite activity. She often spills the bubble maker, but I don`t mind.

Sheep

Di likes watching Shaun The Sheep so we decided to make the sheep. I printed a picture of the sheep and cut it. Di helped me to make cotton balls and then she glued the balls on the sheep. We also like this link: www.shaunthesheep.com, where you can find some make and do activities, videos, games and other. It was my nameday today. I was surprised, because I received a lot of sms congratulations. The dearest one was from my daughter Di. She picked up some meadow flowers and she said to me Best wishes mom.

Živánska

It was Sunday today and it was quite nice weather in the morning, so we decided to make lunch called živánska. It contains potatoes, pork, onion, bacon, stewed vegetable salad, salt and spice. All the ingrediets are wrapped in a foil and baked in a fire ash. Finally it is yummy yummy.

Wedding

Milan and Alenka got married today and our family was invited. We looked forward the wedding, especially Di, because she looked like a princess. She wanted to dance all the time, also in the church. The wedding was great and so was our Di. Alenka and Milan thank you very much for your invitation.

Horse

It is cold and rainy weather today. Di watched Spirit and I prepared her another activity. We talked about horses, looked at some pictures of horses on the Internet, watched the video I am - Horses at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVWYMl2yg1E and read about Horse from a book of Jevgenij Čarušin called My First Zoology with beautiful ilustrations. Then we made the horse. I found a nice picture of horse that I printed and cut. Di cut wool into short items that we glued together onto the horse to make his mane. Finally I fix the horse to the skewer.

Bird puppet

We went to Prešov today because The days of Prešov city started and a lot of attractions for kids nad for adults are prepared. We saw the Indians singing, Di was driving in a train for kids, there were some stalls with wooden things, pottery, sweets and other things in the main street and a stage where some folk groups performed. But then started to rain, so we had a look at some shops and then we went home. Di was tired a little bit, so she painted a paper bag with a blue tempera and when it dried out, I made a bird puppet I once saw somewhere on the internet, probably at Chasing Cheerios. Well done!

Free as a bird

Di wanted to try her new watercolours. So she tried a made her nice blotch splotch picture. When it dried out, there was a task for me - to draw the birds. And here is the result!

Dolls

I went to the endocrinologist today, so my sis Lenka took care about Di. They were playing with dolls, they fed them, treated them, gave them some medicine, cooked fish and pasta, washed their hands and faces and the most of all they made a big big mess all around the house. But I hope, they had fun together.

Fish game

Today is International Children`s day, so BEST WISHES to children all around the world. We did what Di wanted to do. We played with playdough, we played with puzzle and we played with cars. She listened to her favorite songs and jumped on my bed. Then she wanted to see her grandmother and my sister Lenka, so we went to Sabinov and we spent afternoon there. Di received some presents from grandma and from Lenka. When we returned home, I gave her my present - a magnet fish game. It was very funny and joyful for Di to catch the fish.
